The Accidental Fossil Hunter
Recently, I went to see the IMAX T-Rex Documentary where 3 kids find a T-Rex Fossil in North America. This made me remember my own accidental fossil discovery when I was in elementary school. We had just moved to a new neighborhood close to a creek that is known as a place for fossil hunting. One day we were planting shrubs in our yard. We hit something hard and after checking the rocks we had in hand my mom thought they could be fossils. We decided to take them to the University in our town where they help identify fossils. They said the fossils we found were about 90 million years old from marine life. This area where we now live was a sea bed and under water at that time. As a child, I became a collector of fossils, stones and colorful rocks. Now, I still keep all my fossils and my favorite stones, because this little collection ROCKS!!!

The Pen Cemetery
I have a "Pen Cemetery". These are the pens, markers, highlighters and gel pens that don't work anymore. I have a lot of them because I'm an artist and I use these all the time to create my art. Once they slowly die and stop working, I cannot throw them away because I feel guilty. Instead, I collect them and add them to my "Pen Cemetery" where they stay for a long while. I just cannot throw them in the trash where they would go to the landfill and stay hundreds or thousands of years before decomposing.
I found a solution: recycling. I'm able to take them to my local college where they have a special recycling bin for them. It makes me feel in control by not adding to the waste. I'm hoping that I can give them a second chance and bring them back to life in a different form. I can only hope.
Please think about recycling before throwing anything away. Our planet deserves better.

The Petter Rabbit Family
There is a wild rabbit family that lives in our backyard. I call it the "Petter Rabbit Family". I like to see them hopping around and eating the wild grasses. They have plenty of room to jump around since it is a big yard and pet-free. Our neighbors yard is the same, so pretty much a safe zone between the two yards. They seem to feel at easy and it is like a natural habitat for them. It is only since last year that we've seen wild rabbits in our property. They are going to be very fun to watch this Spring!
Just a reminder to enjoy Spring time around nature.

Pika's Corner: A Valentine's Day Surprise
As many of you know, my fair lady, Ms. Hello Kitty and I have been an item for the last couple of years. This Valentine's Day I thought it would be very romantic to have our portrait done by a famous artist and surprise her. Ms. Hello Kitty's favorite Holiday is Valentine's Day. She was so surprised when she saw the picture that she jumped for joy and gave me a big hug. We not only had a very happy Valentine's Day but this also gave me major brownie points.
I hope all of you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!!!

Where did the color go?
There is no color in fashion this winter season. Every time I go shopping for clothes I always see blah colors. The color palette is so boring; a total snore fest. Earth tones, muted colors, beiges, browns and grays really put me to sleep. What are the designers thinking? I think they are in a fog after COVID. The designs are so plain, oversized and with no shape; like wearing a sack of potatoes. I need a little "Jackson Pollock" color in my clothes and a better fit. I want to go and shake the designers and wake them up before next season. Please be warned, shop at your own risk!
